Certain areas around the UK are warning dog owners about a rise in Kennel Cough. Vets are urging people to think about vaccinating their pet against the condition as it is highly contagious.

Symptoms

Kennel cough is a persistent harsh dry cough that can last for quite a length of time. It sounds like the dog has something stuck in their throat.

Vaccine Advise

If your concerned about your pet, ring your veterinary practise for advice. A vaccine can protect dogs that regularly socialise with other dogs and lasts for around a year.

The disease can affect dogs of any breed and age. It can be contracted outside in places such as parks and doggy day care to inside areas such as groomers and kennels.
