Description: Tylan 200 is a sterile yellow aqueous solution; each ml contains 200mg of tylosin base activity. Tylan 200mg/ml injection is indicated in all conditions associated with bacteria sensitive to tylosin. Tylan 200mg/ml has been successfully used in respiratory and genito-urinary tract infections, otitis, cellulitis, and secondary bacterial conditions associated with virus disease or post operative infections.
Dosage:
Tylan 200 should be administered via intramuscular injection at the following dose rates:
Cattle: 4–10mg/kg bodyweight daily
Pigs: 2–10mg/kg bodyweight daily
The maximum injection volume for cattle is limited to 15ml per injection site and different injection sites should be used for repeated injections.
If there is no response to treatment in 3 days, diagnosis should be reassessed.
The body weight should be accurately determined to ensure accurate dosing
To ensure accurate dosage, bodyweight should be determined as accurately as possible.
Withdrawal Period:
Pigs must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment or for at least 9 days after the last treatment.
Pigs should not be slaughtered for human consumption for three weeks after the last treatment to avoid blemish at the site of injection.
Cattle must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 28 days of the last treatment.
Milk for human consumption must not be taken from a cow during treatment. Milk for human consumption may be taken only after 108 hours from the last treatment.
Contra Indications and special precautions:
For animal treatment only.
Tylan 200 should not be given to chickens or turkeys.
Do not administer to horses or other equines in which injection of tylosin may be fatal
Do not mix with other solutions; this may cause precipitation of the active ingredient.
Tylosin may induce irritation. Macrolides such as tylosin, may also cause hypersensitivity (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or contact with skin or eye.
Do not store above 25°C and discard after 28 days according to national requirements.
