Bimectin 1% w/v Solution for Injection
Bimectin is a colourless non-aqueous sterile solution containing 1% ivermectin w/v.
It is licensed for use in:
Cattle and pigs for a range of internal and external parasites
Sheep for a range of gastro-intestinal worms, lungworms and nasal bots

Dosage: The product should be administered subcutaneously at the recommended dose of 200micrograms Ivermectin per kg of bodyweight under the loose skin in front (or behind) of the shoulder in cattle and over the neck in sheep. In pigs the product should be administered subcutaneously in the neck at a dosage level of 300micrograms Ivermectin per kg of bodyweight.
If the dose is small, for example 0.5ml in young pigs below 16kg, dosing accuracy is important and a syringe that delivers the small dose accurately is recommended.
The injection can be administered using any standard automatic, single dose or hypodermic syringe. The injection site should be massaged after administering the product.
It is not recommended to inject wet or dirty animals.
In order to reduce the occurrence of resistance it is important that the correct dose is administered.
Animals should be grouped according to their bodyweight, and dosed according to the heaviest animal in the group, in order to avoid under-dosing.
Gestation Period, lactation and fertility:
The product can be administered to beef cows, sheep and pigs at any stage of pregnancy.
Do not use in dairy cows or sheep producing milk for human consumption.
Do not use in non-lactating dairy cows or sheep within 60 days of calving/lambing.
The product can be used in sows during lactation.
Fertility is not affected by administration of the product.
Withdrawal Period:
Cattle
Meat and Offal – 49 days.
Do not use in lactating cows producing milk for human consumption.
Do not use in non-lactating dairy cows including pregnant dairy heifers within 60 days of calving.
Sheep
Must not be treated within 42 days of slaughter for human consumption.
Do not use in lactating sheep producing milk for human consumption. Do not use in sheep within 60 days of lambing where milk is to be used for human consumption.
Pigs
Must not be treated within 28 days of slaughter for human consumption.
